Mounting, wiring and protection are the balance-of-system parts that make a solar array safe and long-lived. Anodised aluminium rails and stainless fasteners hold panels through wind and snow, PV cable and MC4 connectors carry DC power safely, and a distribution box with breakers isolates and protects each circuit.
