Construction Hoist
A construction (builder's) hoist is the rack-and-pinion lift that carries workers and materials up the outside of a building during construction, taking load off the tower crane. OCALWA supplies single- and twin-cage hoists from 1 to 2 tonnes per cage, matched to your building height and daily traffic, from verified factories.
Move people and materials, safely, all day
A pinion driven by the cage motor climbs a toothed rack on the bolted mast, so the cage rises under full control and cannot free-fall. A centrifugal safety device grips the rack if the cage over-speeds, and interlocked landing gates and cage doors protect everyone at each floor.
Variable-frequency drive gives soft start/stop and accurate landing levelling; twin-cage layouts double throughput for busy sites. The mast ties to the structure at intervals and climbs as the building grows, up to around 96 m and higher on request.

A single cage suits smaller buildings and lighter traffic. A twin cage runs two independent cars on one mast, roughly doubling how many people and how much material you move per hour, which matters on tall or fast-track projects. We size it to your peak daily traffic.
The cage climbs a toothed rack by pinion, so it is always mechanically engaged, not hanging on a rope. A centrifugal safety governor senses over-speed and clamps the rack to stop the cage within a short distance. Limit switches and interlocked gates add further protection.
Passenger-and-material hoists are rated to carry both people and materials, which is the usual choice on building sites. Material-only hoists are cheaper but not permitted for personnel. Tell us if crews will ride it and we quote the correctly rated, certified passenger version.
The mast stands on a base frame and is tied to the structure with wall-anchor brackets at set vertical intervals, so it climbs safely as floors are added. We supply the tie frames and provide the spacing and anchor loads for your engineer to check against the structure.
